FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who are the clients you work with?
The bulk of my photography work focuses on fashion inspired women’s portraiture & personal branding; allowing me to work with tweens, teens, the bride to be, a busy momma, or a proud grandmother.
Clients often seek out my fashion inspired portrait style that allows me to seamlessly blend my style no matter the age of my client. However, I do work with a handful of male clients from time to time especially with those who request personal branding headshots.
Do you still photograph weddings?
My calendar is open to a limited number of weddings each year. I do not foresee myself opening my calendar up to the capacity that it once was (36 a year!), but I will happily work with 5 to 10 brides each year.
My wedding photography portfolio can be viewed here.
How far in advance should I book a photo shoot?
Typically, I book 4 to 6 weeks in advance on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and limited Fridays. Weekend photo shoots are extremely limited and reserved for clients traveling to the Lancaster area or as a rain date.
All photo shoots include professional hair styling & makeup application along with three wardrobe changes, and up to three hours with Amanda creating your portraits - the photo shoot investment is $300.
Two to three weeks following your photo shoot, you’ll return to the studio for your in-person and ordering appointment. During this appointment we will review collections and a la carte keepsake options.
Most clients choose to design a signature album featuring around 30 photographs, a large fine art metal wall portrait, and a few desk prints investing about $1500 - $1800.
Payment plans are available upon request.
What is included in a photo shoot with you and what I can expect to spend?
All clients will be invited to return to the studio for their in-person reveal and design appointment. During this appointment you’ll have the opportunity to look at all of your portraits, hold your proofs, and determine which photos you can’t live without to grace the walls of your home and become a part of your legacy.
Due to security breaches and internet hacking, it’s much safer that your portraits are NOT placed online. Especially for my clients who request a boudoir photo shoot. Only clients who provide a signed model release have their portraits shared within my website, blog, and social media.
When and how will I select my portraits?
Don’t get me wrong, photoshop has provided photographers and digital artists amazing opportunities for enhancing portraits. However, I don’t believe it should be used to warp or look unrealistic. My goal is light and pose you in ways that flatter your body and use photo shop as a method to remove pesky blemishes, under-eye circles and scars (at your request).
These enhancements are completed during the editing process should you have further retouching requests - a custom quote per image will be provided.
How much retouching or “photoshopping” do you do?
Not a problem! Should you wish to remain off the internet and not appear in any studio samples, I’ll 100% honor your request. We can decide this prior to your photo shoot or after your photo shoot. If a NDA agreement is required, let me know, I’ll sign it. My goal is for you to be 100% comfortable from start to finish and not having you worry about your privacy while still wanting to experience a photo shoot with me.
I’d prefer my portraits remain off of the internet due to my career, religion, political associations, etc.
Will you help with location, wardrobe, and styling/props?
Yes, I will help you every step of the way so you have an amazing photo shoot experience. Once you become an AKP client, you’ll receive a detailed welcome guide with styling suggestions, location ideas (in addition to the studio), and prop suggestions.
If we are planning a dream or theme photo shoot - I’d like to plan a consultation (and location walk through) prior to the photo shoot so I can check lighting, props that we might need to source, and any other flush out any other details before the day of your photo shoot.
