I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with you and create a collection of photographs that will be part of your legacy for years to come. Below, I've put together tips, suggestions, and details for making your entire photo shoot experience a success from start to finish. Should you have any ideas or questions along the way please email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call/text me at 717-368-4638!
Please keep in mind that my business hours are currently by appointment only.
Please complete the form below to serve as your electronic model release which is required to be signed by each party being photographed.
WEATHER, CANCELLATIONS, RESCHEDULING
Should Mother Nature not be on our side for your photo shoot (specifically a portrait session involving outdoor locations) we will make a decision to reschedule as soon as possible. I'd much rather reschedule your appointment than try to make it work and have to race against the weather.
If you need to cancel your photo shoot due to an emergency I ask that you try to contact me as soon as possible so I can let the entire time know. Everyone is given "snow day", however, should you need to cancel and reschedule multiple times for non-weather related reasons you will be charged a second session fee after the first reschedule to cover the time set aside by the team.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR PHOTO SHOOT
WHAT TO BRING:
In addition to your planned wardrobe you'll want to bring the following:
Leggings (non-printed black leggings)
Nude bra and undies (please leave the polka dots and/or neon undies at home!)
Cami's in white, nude, and black (non-printed)
Pick out your outfits in advance along with all of the accessories you plan to add (earrings, belts, bracelets, necklaces, hair pieces, and shoes), I can't tell you how many times clients have arrived with items missing that accompany an outfit.
Pro tip - lay out each outfit prior to your photo shoot and collect all of the accessories in a ziplock bag and attach to the hanger. This will make the photo shoot run much smoother and you won't be missing any key pieces. Wrinkled shirts or dresses might like cool on a Pinterest model, but the thrown together look rarely takes shape in daily life.
If a piece of clothing doesn't fit or you aren't comfortable in it at home - leave it there! There is no need to be photographed in an outfit that you really don't like. If you don't like it at home - you won't like it in the photos either.
Don't break the bank styling yourself for your photo shoot - shop your friends closet, look at consignment shops or even your mother's closet - plus, I have an ever-growing studio wardrobe you are welcome to pull outfits from.
HAIR, MAKEUP & NAILS:
Arrive to your photo shoot with dry hair and a bare face. You'll be working with one of my professional hairstylists and makeup artists to help bring your vision to life. Please remember that photo shoot makeup is typically more dramatic than what you are used to wear on a daily basis. However, should you feel way to "made up" speak openly with my team - we want you to feel and look amazing in a way that enhances you and makes you feel the most comfortable and beautiful!
IMPORTANT: The week or days leading up to your photo shoot isn't the time to make a dramatic change in your hair. Should you have three or four inches of regrowth or you look really brassy - make a hair appointment a week before your photo shoot.
Pro tip: if you have long hair - the week before your photo shoot isn't the time to go for a pixie cut. If you truly envision having a pixie in your photos - let's schedule a shoot with your long locks and I'll comp you a second shoot with your pixie just to prove myself wrong. Same tip applies if you wish to make a dramatic color change.
Skip chipped or trendy nail colors - opt for a basic manicure with nude or light pink unless your signature color is a bright red - make sure your toes aren't chipped either or are a crazy shade of teal!
SKIN CARE AND TANNING:
I highly recommend avoiding a day(s) of fun in the sun prior to your photo shoot. Excessive tan lines are never fun to cover with makeup or in post-production (photoshop). Should you want to tan a natural looking alternative Tan Towels might be an option for you to consider. (can be purchased at Trans4mation Salon)
Please drink water the week of photo shoot like it's your job. Well hydrated skin is so important for photo shoot.
If you are experiencing dry or problem skin I recommend that you schedule an appointment with my friend and incredible Esthetician, Leighanne MacDonald at Trans4mation Salon.
DAY OF YOUR PHOTO SHOOT
Please arrive at the studio at your appointed time. Arriving late can cause major scheduling conflicts for everyone evolved (myself, hairstyling, makeup, and choice of locations) including lighting.
Arrive with a clean, moisturized face and dry clean hair to speed up the hair and makeup process
I also ask that you leave possible distractions at home (to include husbands, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, friends, pets, etc) that aren't part of your photo shoot.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOUR PHOTO SHOOT
Once your photo shoot wraps up for the day - have a girl's night or a date night! Your hair and makeup will already be done and you have plenty of wardrobe to choose from! Make it a day to remember!
The editing process begins after your photo shoot. Each of the photographs from your shoot will be reviewed and a collection of photographer’s favorites will be selected. Those selections are the best representation of your photo shoot and will be retouched accordingly.
A note about retouching: As we know, retouching has become a visual standard and while Photoshop has the capability to drastically change the look of a person, my goal is to enhance your stunning features. Each photograph undergoes an editing process that includes: color correction, cropping, stray hair removal, removal of imperfections in wardrobe, along with skin and eye enhancement.
VIEWING YOUR PHOTOS
You will be invited back into the studio about two weeks after your photo shoot to view your photos in person. You must return to the studio in order to see your photos - no online galleries, slideshows, or sneak peeks will be shared.
At this time it is important to bring any members of your family who will be part of the ordering process. During this appointment you will be viewing your photographs and creating an order. Please allow up to an 1 to an 1 and a 1/2 in the studio for designing your keepsake products. Once your order is placed and a retainer is paid your order will move into production. A production timeline is depends on the keepsake products you select.
